Our Weekend + Photos

B went back to work this past week and I have to tell you... having four kids on your own is no joke. Definitely not for the faint of heart. I find it's taking me ten times as long as usual to get things done and I'm constantly frustrated by it. It looks something like this:
Decide I want coffee.
Walk to coffee pot.
 Step over 70 toys.
 Clean up toys.
 Dirty rug.
 Vacuum rug.
 Screaming baby.
 Feed baby.
 Jealous toddler.
 Read to toddler.
 Big yawn...
 oh yeah, I wanted coffee...
You see my point.

This little peach had her very first at home bath and she LOVED it. Seriously, I may just put her in the bath when she's determined to be unhappy with me... She is almost always wearing this shocked expression which the kids find hilarious! This bath lounger pillow thing is awesome by the way! As most of you know our bathtub is a horse trough and I really don't want to lean over the side of it to bathe this tiny girl. Tiny girl + Tiny House = Sink Baths! They save Momma's back!

Gemma is still reeling from the loss of her 'baby of the family' crown, which in essence means that I am also reeling... She is so impatient with me which is odd for her. She is getting better everyday though and I'm trying my best to stay ahead of the meltdowns and mood swings. That may or may not involve a huge stash of bribery chocolate. Mom of the year...

The little girls and I headed to Babies R' Us last week to test drive some double strollers and we settled on the Contours Tandem, but you know I'm just too cheap to pay full price for something like that so after I made my decision I scoured craigslist and local resale shops for days until I found one in great shape for less than a quarter of the price of a new one! It does need a new storage basket so I went to the company website and found a ton of replacement parts for sale. I ordered a new basket for $11! It maneuvers pretty well for a double stroller, I won't be able to run with it (once I get there) but it does great on a walk and I'm sure it will totally eliminate my not enough hands problem when I'm out with the little ones on my own. Because, did you know when you're breastfeeding a baby in the produce section of the grocery store it's really hard to stop a toddler from bowling with lemons... or cantaloupes... or any other thing she can reach...

Also, on the way to church yesterday morning. Gemma learned how to give herself a double chin! Can't wait for my next post about all the wacky stuff she says... I have so much to share!

This is my circus and these are my monkeys...
XOXO
