Making the decision to breastfeed exclusively means a lot more than I initially realized. We barely offered Rue a pacifier in the hospital because I really wanted my milk to come in first. As a result she never really accepted the whole artificial nipple thing which means no bottles. We're working on that daily and I'm hoping that by opening day of hunting season she'll have it down, or she'll be going hunting with me! Just kidding... maybe.
The benefits of breastfeeding seem to be immeasurable and while it's so much easier to me than bottle feeding (especially in the middle of the night!) they don't tell you that you'll probably need to reassess your entire wardrobe. I swear I've contemplated taking everything I own to a tailor and asking them to just put a zipper or buttons down the front... Finding clothes for your new and probably very different body can be so discouraging. Most of the time I wear a tank top with a knit zip up hoodie over it because that's just more comfortable, and something I already wear a lot, but you can only own so many tank tops right!? Here are a few of the things I use often and really love...
I want this in each color! It's super comfortable and loose fitting so it's easy to lift up but it's flowy (is that a word!?) enough that I still feel covered. I have a few tops like this and I'm kind of dreading having to start layering when it gets cold... I hate wearing an undershirt, like a lot... Houston is just too hot for layers...
This is just super awesome. I don't use a cover when I wear this because the top ruffle works just like one. It's buttery soft and washes well... I have it in black! Also, the ruffles hide the baby belly pretty well!
I wear this everyday. I mean it. I have it in the dark purple color but I love this lavender and would definitely buy another one. I also have a dress from Latched Mama and it's so flattering. The panel on the front makes it easy to nurse in but it's still pretty cute!
Lately I'm pretty excited that I can fit in my normal jeans again, but usually I choose whats comfortable and functional... Speaking of... I gifted myself these and I am in love. I've wanted these flats forever! I swear my heart went pitter patter when I saw them on Zulily!!
