Rue Evangeline

After much anticipation and a complete lack of patience on my part our sweet girl is finally here! 

Rue Evangeline

20.75 inches long

We arrived at the hospital Wednesday morning at 6:20 and got all settled and ready for the surgery. By 7:20 I was taken back to the operating room and the anesthesiologist started on the spinal anesthesia. I had felt calm all morning and started to feel a little anxious at this point until Brandon was able to come back in and sit next to me. Things were very similar to the surgery with Gemma and I felt reassured by knowing what to expect. The team in the operating room really impressed me and I felt like I was in a great hands. After lots of tugging and pulling and pressure baby girl was with us and screaming her little heart out! The nurse asked us what her name was and Brandon said "I have to tell my wife first!" I laughed and was super excited to hear what he chose. I really had my heart set on Rue or Evangeline but didn't think I'd get both! Both of her names were actually my contributions to our original name list so for everyone who is wondering... yes, I'm really happy with what he chose... I know y'all still think I'm crazy! 

So far Rue is a lot like Gemma. She's very laid back and easy to please. Like all newborns she's a champion sleeper and she's nursing really really well. I was more anxious about breastfeeding again than I realized but I'm so relieved to say it's going great! 

I'm feeling incredibly blessed to have another healthy, strong baby girl and to also be experiencing a great recovery. My nurse in the hospital has been absolutely amazing and Brandon has been with me the entire time so I've been very well taken care of!

I can't wait to get back home to the big kids and finish healing so we can have one more fun month of summer before they head back to school... The time always seems to go by so fast. We'll be taking it easy and spending as much time cuddled up together and making as many memories as possible!
