This morning Gemma asked me if she could come to the hospital "when they take my baby out". She is so curious about it lately. I said of course she'll come with Jude and Jaden to meet the baby and she added "to check you up too, Mom" I am blown away by her grasp of the whole situation and that she wants to check on me! She went on to say that she will bring the baby a blanket and wrap her up so she stays "warm, warm, warm." (everything essential is said three times right now! so cute.)
Kids minds seem to be exploding at this age and it's so incredibly entertaining. Especially when talking about what could potentially be a sensitive subject like sharing your parents with a very needy newborn. When we read about it or she sees something about becoming a big sister on tv she's very into it. She told us the other day that when the baby comes she will not have teeth and she will not be able to talk. So she can't eat pizza and she will cry a lot. My answer was basically: Um yeah. you're exactly right. She also said that when she learns how to climb the ladder at our house she won't need to sleep beside Momma anymore and she could just share her bed with the baby. The first thing she says to people right now is "Hi, I'm Gemma. I'll be three on my next birthday. We're going to have a baby!" I'm excited that it means that much to her and I really hope that these girls will love each other as much as my sister and I do.
99 Days to go! The countdown is officially on... and has been in my mind for sometime! It is insanely harder to be patient this time.
XOXO
