10 Random Things

I've mentioned before how big of a challenge this blog is for me. It's not the writing or the planning or the work I put into it... it's the sharing it part that terrifies me. Especially because we now live in a world where everyone places supreme importance on their own opinions but none at all on the opinions of others. Yikes. So in an effort to push myself a little further I'm sharing 10 random facts about me. And also because apparently you guys want to know more about the weirdo writing all this stuff. Here we go...

1. I just turned 26! Although I feel like I should be closer to 30... Brandon says mentally I'm 45. I'm good with it!

2. I have 3 tattoos. The first I got when I was 17. eek. I distinctly remember my sister telling me over and over that I needed to think it through and be sure that I really wanted Hello Kitty permanently emblazoned on my hip bone. Yeahhhh I was so sure. The second is the rose on my shoulder for Gemma and the third is on my inner arm. If I had even an ounce more of body confidence (and funds!) I would be covered in them, much to the misery of my poor parents!

3. I am awfully moody when things are out of order or I am behind. I am in a constant struggle between that and the ever so lovely forget it all and eat ice cream state of mind. It's not pretty. It's just not.

4. I have always been super interested in Egyptology. When I was a kid I was borderline obsessed. I have books and maps running out of my ears about it all. No joke. You can imagine how overjoyed I was when Jude said he was studying Ancient Egypt not for school but "just on his own..." All the heart eyes for that boy.

5. I am horrible at math. I mean really truly horrible. Brandon is not. When he asks me simple math questions my answer is "um. Hello. I don't Math."

6. My favorite song is All At Sea by Jamie Cullum, My favorite color is grey, My favorite food is Pasta!

7. I love to sing. Secretly though... because the second I say that aloud people will come running (and by people I mean my husband), screaming "HERE'S MY WIFE! SING MIRANDA." and I want to die or crawl under something and hide. He loves me a lot. I like to refer to that as the love bubble. That dang bubble makes him think that everyone else is going to think I'm awesome too when really I am painfully average.

8. I really truly love the sunshine, but I also really love the rain. When I check out the weather and see that a rainy day is coming I get super excited about the not going anywhere and the cozy staying-at-homeness that I will be doing. Probably baking something and rearranging things or catching up on chores at home while drinking 78 cups of hazelnut coffee. (told you I'm 45.)

9. After I'm not needed by my small army of children so much anymore I'd like to get a degree in Marketing. For now, I'm satisfied with my role in life but I'd be lying if I said that there are not days when I wake up and wish I could be the one going to work. I very much enjoy this season of my life though and I live it with a surety that I won't regret spending these precious few years this way...

10. I never wear matching socks... Like ever. It is a very rare occurrence like when the socks are new or someone else did the laundry. They have to be the same texture and thickness but that's about it.

Happy Wednesday Y'all!
XOXO
Miranda

  2. And you make the BEST Hazelnut coffee! I love the rain too. But not so much the sunshine. Sunshine, to me is like a hard task-masker, beating me over the head with his ultraviolet club of misery. I would love nothing more than to live in the darkest, coldest, deadest corner of the world with the least amount of light, the sound of wind blowing(or howling) through the trees, and where even a bird must complete a formal written request to make a chirp. Enjoyed the read :). Love you guys!
