Thursday Thoughts

By the time Wednesday comes around, Brandon is usually away at work and I'm feeling a little overwhelmed. By Thursday I accept the fact that I need to lower my expectations as far as chores and housework go...

This morning Rue woke up early and instead of crying to get out of her crib immediately she sat up on her own and played with her toys for almost half an hour. It was so sweet and it reminded me of how quickly the seasons of life pass and how quickly we develop new normals and new realities.

Our lives are in a huge period of change and those same thoughts apply to things like our home, our family relationships.,, our work... God has made short work of mountains in our lives and I can't wait to see what He does next. My heart is tender and I find I'm regularly close to tears especially in prayer. My human mind and body struggles to keep up with my spiritual heart and it takes a continual effort to push back against doubt. I find daily God asks me to grow more, to reach for more... I've ignored that my entire life. When you choose to ignore it it's not such a big deal. You just operate in a very human world, in a very limited way... Everyday I'm reassured I want to operate in God's world. It has called for incredible leaps of faith, decisions that don't make sense... Questions with no answers... all things my human mind is afraid of...

So today and everyday my prayer is that I would continually be more inclined to the courage than the doubt...

Brandon leaves for Imphal in less than two weeks and we're both very excited for the changes that will occur once he's there both physically and mentally for everyone involved. Happiness Home is in Churachandpur District at the foot of the Himalayas... The journey he'll be making in a few short weeks is not only incredibly symbolic of a decades long journey to fall back into his own purpose, but a manifestation of the work we've done, the first step in a lifelong journey, and the birthing of my own purpose in this life.
