It gets more and more noticeable every Spring that Jude and Jaden aren't really kids at all anymore, these days they're much more like young adults. They were so small when we met and I'm so thankful for that, thankful that I got the oppurtunity to care for them when they still needed me. Now I appreciate and admire their independence even when I have to remind them to brush their teeth or take out the trash. They're great kids and we're so blessed by them. Gemma loves Jude a lot and constantly and annoyingly wants to be close to him... Jaden is always teaching Gemma new things... how to make her bed, how to draw flowers... They're pro big siblings and Gemma's lucky to have them. There's not much in the world better than watching your children interact with each other... These are the best days.
Rue has a pretty severe cold and she has been coughing and sneezing all through the night. I'm hoping she'll be on the mend soon... I think some parents never sleep regularly after having children. When they're small you spend years in a half sleep listening to them breathe, and then harder still they grow up, and I suspect there is many a mother roaming empty hallways, filling countless glasses of water just trying to fathom that someone so miraculously connected to them now sleeps under a different roof, in a new time zone even... The true miracle of children is that as they grow they somehow need us less and less and we come to need them more and more.
We've so enjoyed our Spring Break with Jude and Jaden and we were so happy to welcome Brandon home (more on that later!)
Hope you're all having a wonderful week!
XOXO
Miranda
