Life Lately

Gemma is at her grandparents house this week, no offense to my sweet girl but I feel like I'm on vacation! Rue is the easiest baby and even though she's in full on teething mode I've slept in and had chocolate chip cookies for lunch two days in a row! What heaven! I seriously can't believe baby girl is teething, already. I swear she's five minutes old... not well on her way to six months. She's such a joy. We're really really enjoying the quiet while big sister is away but I'm missing her so so much. She is my daily entertainment and I didn't realize how helpful she is with Rue. I never dreamed she'd be the kind of big sister she has become. In the mornings she goes over to Rue's crib, reaches through the bars and rubs her head and just whispers the cutest things. The other day I heard her say "don't worry Rue, Sister is here. Sister is here." What on earth is sweeter than that!?

I am having full on postpartum hair loss and it's driving me INSANE. I remember this happening with Gemma and I was just as grossed out by it then as I am now, except this time I have dark brown hair and WHITE FLOORS. I take it as a sign that my body is getting back to normal which I whole heartedly welcome but geez, so much hair... I'm still taking my prenatal and an iron supplement, when I can remember it and Rue is still nursing like a champ! I am really really proud of how well we've done!

It's crazy how different things are after your first baby... I do a lot without noticing or thinking about it, especially nursing. We've nursed on demand since Rue was born and I really think that's a great habit to develop. Once you get the hang of it its just so convenient. And free, which is huge bonus.

I've spent this week deep cleaning and organizing which I love to do when the seasons are changing. I'm so ready for Halloween! I've finished costume planning for both girls! I kept it seriously simple and I think Gemma will enjoy trick or treating in hers! She was very clear about what she wanted. It was truly adorable. She tried over and over explaining to me that the pumpkin bucket just does not work out with her idea. When I asked her what she'd carry her candy in if she didn't carry the bucket she said "oh...... you can carry the pumpkin Mom!!!!" I'm looking forward to carving pumpkins with her this weekend! It'll be her first time!

Hope you're all having a great week!

XOXO
Miranda
