We took a trip to the pumpkin patch, Gemma had a blast and took the enormous piles of pumpkins as a challenge... She wanted to spread them all out as far as possible. It was pretty funny. She jumped in the bounce houses but quickly got tired of the pushy momma's making their kids pose for pictures inside the bounce houses... I got elbowed to the back of the viewing area pretty quickly. That just goes to show you, people will do anything for a good instagram photo... lol. but not really. We came home and instead of carving pumpkins I got mastitis. Yay. We did eventually carve the pumpkins if you can call it that. We decided we wanted polka dot pumpkins so we stole Papa's drill and attacked the pumpkins with it. They turned out pretty cute actually!
We did most of our celebrating at Zoo Boo over the weekend and it was so fun! We've managed to avoid eating our weight in candy... barely. Gemma was so brave and participated in a hula hooping contest which was really one of the cutest things I've ever seen her do! The Houston Zoo is really a great one... Gemma collected candy at each of the candy stations and everyone was so nice! This year she decided all on her own that she'd be the witch from Room On The Broom... What she didn't account for is her completely un-crafty Momma. So she was just a plain old witch... When I did her hair she said "actually she has one braid Mom. A long ginjuh braid. but this is okay..."
I didn't originally plan a costume for Rue because I knew whatever plans we'd make I'd be carrying her in my sling or wrap. Again, mom of the year... but we did find this adorable witch hat to match Gemma's! This morning she decided that she'd like to be a Harry Potter fan girl and gave herself a nice little forehead scratch... If you know how much I love Harry Potter you know I was not upset about it.
Happy Halloween Y'all!
XOXO
Miranda
