The Friday Five... On a Saturday.

Thanksgiving is almost here guys! We got some bad news last week about Brandon's vacation time and we had to cancel our Tennessee Thanksgiving plans. We were all so disappointed but plans were rearranged and somehow we managed to swing reservations near Brandon's job at the last minute! We get to be together after all!

It's truly hard to have a husband who works away from home. Add to the mix my step children who also live far away some of the time and it adds an unimaginable value to the time that we do get together. For me, there will never be anything more important than the investments I make in my family. Especially during the holidays!

Here are my five favorites for the week!

1. I made homemade Chicken Noodle Soup Tuesday night. Without a recipe. or any experience. Like I've said before I'm not much of a cook... but holy cow I can make some good soup! My grandmother is forever giving me things from her freezer and pantry when Gemma and I go for our visits during the week. I guess that's what grandmothers do! Anyways, I had this huge bag of Chicken in the freezer from her and wanted to use some of it. It turned out pretty great! Here's a loose description of what I did!

You need a  big stock pot to boil the chicken!
I added about 86 of the Mexican Bouillon Cubes because they are way better than the other. Maybe not 86, more like 3.
A ton of salt, onion powder, minced garlic and juice of three lemons
Boiled then removed chicken.
Added Carrots and Celery boiled until soft!
Then added egg noodles cooked until al dente and added the chicken to warm through again!

It was AWESOME. I was stuffed but somehow three hours later found room for a slice of pumpkin roll! (for a little while at least).

2. This Cold Cup from Starbucks
I am thirsty ALL THE TIME. I had the plastic cup like this but it didn't hold up well at all. I bought the glass one for a few dollars more and love it! It could probably be bigger but I refill it at least 6-8 times a day. It's a great way to stay hydrated.

Hallelujah for a prenatal vitamin that doesn't make me sick! These actually taste really good and have no weird after taste like so many others. They're just as affordable as the other popular ones too! I got mine at Target.

I mentioned that this first trimester is not going super well for me like most women so I find myself resting a lot more than I used to and a lot more than I probably should but you know... This show somehow started automatically on Netflix last week and I got into it pretty quickly. It can be kind of cheesy (and kind of cinemax-ish, if you know what I mean...) but it's pretty good. I'm also a sucker for beautiful set and costume design. If you are too then this is your show! Also, the music is AWESOME.

5. Picking Up The Big Kids Today!
Thanksgiving Break is finally here and we finally get some time with Jude and Jaden! Gemma is beyond excited to see them and we can't wait to tell them about the new baby! Watch out for lots of IG posts this week! I swear they are the most photogenic children EVER.

Starting next week I'll be posting less often, probably Tues/Thur instead of three times a week... Maybe just through the holidays but maybe longer, we'll see.

Updated to say: I have never seen Gemma so happy to see someone in her life! We picked the kids up yesterday afternoon and Gemma hasn't let go of Jude since. We were starving after about 5 minutes on the road to home so we stopped at Cracker Barrel where Gemma promptly got car sick and vomited in the pretty flowers by the side walk. Jaden and I took her to the bathroom to clean her up while Brandon and Jude picked a new/clean outfit for her. While doing that they discovered that there were 28 tables in line ahead of us. Back into the car and back onto the road we went... We were all pretty hungry by the time we magically arrived at a second Cracker Barrel an hour later. Needles to say we all ate way too much. We got home around 2 and Gemma woke us up 5(!!!!) hours later. We told the kids about the baby and Jaden didn't believe us. She was super excited and immediately wanted to know if it's a boy or a girl! Jude definitely wants a boy!

We're happy to be together again and very much looking forward to spending Thanksgiving break with Brandon!

Hope your weekend is great!
XOXO
Miranda

P.S. Sorry for the most disorganized post ever!
