We have children's books for every holiday around here... but the Halloween ones are my favorite probably just because of Room On The Broom... am I right or am I right!?! I think we all know that one by heart. Gemma randomly recites it in the car or in the bathtub... It's awesome. In fact Room on The Broom is her costume inspiration this year. She's got the hat and the broom, although she rides the broom backwards so we're working on that... These are her current favorites!

Goodnight Goon scared her a little in the beginning. She woke up in the middle of the night saying a green monster put her in a trash can and went "shake-a shake-a shake-a!" So we stopped reading it and then she was suddenly over it and thought it was hilarious!?
Monster Needs A Costume is a good one because it rhymes and I love books that are easy to read. Gemma learns them a lot faster that way which I love...
Vampirina Ballerina is ADORABLE. In all honesty I bought it for the illustrations but I really love the story too. Gemma loves all things quirky so a vampire ballerina is right up her alley.
Five Black Cats is not really one of my favorites but Gemma seems to enjoy it
Miss Fiona's Stupendous Pumpkin Pies is a very close second to Room On The Broom. It's so sweet. It really brings to life the celebration that is Fall and Halloween Traditions. This one also rhymes!
Luckily the Room On The Broom movie is on Netflix and Gemma watches that sometimes if she's falling asleep in the car or if she's just in need of some comforting. It's so funny how habits are soothing to us. I've been reading Goodnight Moon to her since she was born and sometimes she'll ask me to "just say the Goodnight words Momma..." It's the sweetest thing...
We're still on the hunt for a few costume details but can't wait for Trick or Treating!
XOXO
