Packing the Hospital Bag

With Gemma I didn't even pack a hospital bag. When labor started I went into Gemma's nursery and threw random things in a gallon ziplock bag between contractions, while Brandon ran around like a crazy person because I waited hours to tell him my contractions were three minutes apart. Oops. Our hospital stay went fine, beyond fine actually. It was some of the most memorable and enjoyable days of my life.

However, this time I really would like to be more prepared. Brandon didn't leave the hospital once to go home even though it was close enough. There was no chance he was gonna leave Gemma. So we made do with the sub-par toiletries and not super comfy clothes... My Mom was able to come and stay with the older kids so she brought us food which was nice. There was also a snack/coffee room right next to us. I'm delivering at a new hospital in a different state this time though so I'm not too sure what I should expect. This time around, having done this once already, there are some things I'd like to have with me for comfort and convenience... and admittedly for pictures. I had a great tan when Gemma was born and that was the only thing that made me look even remotely human in those first photos...

Brandon is calling this the 'baby bug out bag' which I find hilarious. Hopefully having this baby will be nothing like an end of the world situation...

Boppy Cover // Car Seat

For Me:
- All of my regular toiletries. Shampoo, Body Wash, Makeup, Lotion, etc... (I bought some travel size stuff and new toothbrushes so I don't have to grab anything if we need to leave quickly, and I'll probably leave it all at the hospital...)
- Prenatal Vitamins, Stool Softener, Gas X
- Abdominal Binder & Upsie Belly Support Band
- Comfy Gowns & a Robe
- House Shoes & Socks
- Nursing Supplies (bras, nipple cream, etc...)
- Water Bottle & High Protein/Fiber Snacks
- Pillow From Home
- Macbook & Chargers
- Going Home Clothes (I'll probably wear this to the hospital!)
- Insurance Cards & ID

For Brandon:
- Toiletries
- Pajamas, Extra Clothes
- Pillow & Blanket from home. (We had a rollaway bed brought into our hospital room with Gemma so if that's an option for him again it'd be nice for him to not freeze to death in between micro naps thanks to newly nursing baby girl!)
- His Favorite Snacks
-His Laptop and Chargers

For Baby Girl
- Scratch Mittens
- Burp Cloths & Blanket
- Hat(s)
- Going Home Outfit
- Pacifier (nipple confusion I know. Not really concerned.)
- Boppy Pillow
- Car Seat (duh!)
- Baby Book for Footprints

We're getting really really ready to meet this girl and also really ready to have Jude & Jaden here for the summer! Which starts today! So this is the official kick off of the circus that this summer will surely be and I can't wait to get started!

XOXO
Miranda
