Spring Break + Easter 2016

We had such a fun filled and calm week with the kids. Brandon was on vacation and his phone probably only rang 10 times! That's a big deal for an entire week... We basically just spent all of our time doing fun things or curled up in a ball on the couch watching Yukon Men. It's an addiction at our house... We were all just overjoyed to see each other and spend time together. Jude learned to ride the motorcycle and Jaden completed her paint by number and Gemma's! (and that was only by the morning of day three!)

I've taken a photo of them every time we get them in the car when we pick them up since I've been their Step Mom. They think I'm a total dork for it but they both really loved to see the photos from the last five spring breaks all put together! It's so sad how fast they grow...

Because Brandon took vacation time we took the opportunity to get some much needed doctors appointments in and the kids were total champs. Jude read Eldest in like three days and Jaden taught Gemma all kinds of new stuff on her leap pad... We went to the park to kill time between appointments and Jude just happened to have his fishing pole in the back of the truck! He's so much like his dad...

We all had way too much fun (especially Brandon) at a bouncy house place where we met my sister and her husband so the kids could play with Cousin Joel!

We even had time to squeeze in a confetti egg easter hunt with Joel and my younger siblings. They were all ecstatic to see each other and run around cracking eggs all over the place! Gemma and Joel weren't quite up for the hitting each other part which was really funny but the big kids obviously needed no excuses to make each other miserable. You can imagine what the white floors in our house looked like after bath time that night... Confetti for days... not kidding.

As always the time passes way too fast and there are so many things we wanted to squeeze in that we just couldn't... I'm always torn between making the most of the time and making sure they are relaxed and rested and enjoying time with Brandon. It's a balancing act as with all things but they had so much fun this past week so I'm satisfied.

We drove them back to school Friday and got back home around midnight. Then Brandon and I decided it would be a good idea to tackle an entire days worth of errands and a 4+ hour drive to South Texas the next day... Needless to say I've never been more tired in my life! We made it in time to make it to church Sunday morning and to make up Gemma's easter basket. Which she was blown away by. Hashtag: Mom WIN! We never did ask anyone to take a picture of us together so we snapped these of each other while waiting for our table at lunch!

I hope you all had a very blessed Easter and spent it with the people you love most in the world!

XOXO
Miranda
