Happy Monday! Hope y'all had an awesome weekend like we did! It's been a very VERY long time since we were able to spend an entire weekend at home without being in a complete rush to mow the grass and clean the house and pack our bags to be back on the road by Sunday night... Yeah. Not so fun. We made up for it this weekend!
Turns out this girl thinks checking the mail is MAGICAL. Pretty sure all of that is going to change when she realizes the only people who send you mail are the people who want your money... So sad.
We had the cheesiest pizza EVER for lunch on friday. Gemma had two pieces which is a real feat for a tiny two year old. and I may have had two pieces too which is not a real feat for me at all. Unfortunately.
Gemma spent all day Saturday baby wearing and dressing up in Sissy's old dresses (that almost fit!)
We finally emptied out our storage unit and organized a yard sale. You really don't realize the amount of junk you accumulate in such a short period of time... Unfortunately it rained cats and dogs and the yard sale became a catastrophe but we were able to save this awesome recliner for later use!
After the rain the weather was amazing which was so wonderful for us. We spent the whole weekend outside with all of the animals including this little monkey who took her cowboy boots off for a total of four seconds all weekend.
For some reason Saturday night I was really in a baking mood so Gemma and I made a red velvet cake and she helped me pipe some frosting... into her mouth. and maybe mine. Because Papa was asleep on the couch ;)
Sunday was for lunch on the porch and long four wheeler rides in the woods to choose spots for the deer blind and climbing stand. We're getting super excited for hunting season and our annual camping trip coming up next month!
Brandon built a fire, strung up some lights in the trees and grilled steaks and we had dinner outside...
and made great use of that recliner I told you about earlier...
Weekends like this remind me of how blessed my life has been!
We're lucky enough to get today off but tomorrow it's back on the road and back to work! I hope you all had a great weekend!
P.S. Forgot to mention the teepee Brandon built. Gemma thought it was truly amazing.
Time to start sending mail that doesn't want your money. =) thats one thing I try to do. I use to write my grandparents. I still write my nieces too. They love it: birthday cards, thank you notes, just letters. It is a great feeling to get mail that isn't bills.
