Gemma and I went to visit Brandon at work this past weekend. We are missing him like crazy so the short drive is very well worth it. We left late Friday night and Gemma slept the entire way. Score! I listened to this video (https://youtu.be/xAs7V1w_aDU) sent to me by my (awesome) cousin. If you have any interest in theology and modern culture at all they intersect really nicely in this video!
Gemma was beyond happy to see her Papa and his "work house" she thought we moved there and I spent the whole weekend reminding her that we did have to go home at some point. I used to travel with Brandon for work constantly. It was a lot of fun and because of that we were able to do a ton of things together that we otherwise wouldn't have experienced. When you have a kid it changes the dynamic of EVERYTHING. It got a little harder for me to travel with him and for a short period of time he worked from home so that was really nice. Now that Gemma's older things are easier again... I'm hoping they will continue to be until the new baby girl starts walking! Then all bets are off and I'll be going baby gate crazy.
Anyways! Here are some photos from the weekend!
Saturday we spent the afternoon at the Riverwalk. I hadn't been since I was a kid and it was a lot of fun. It's always nice to see new things, especially with a child. Gemma was amazed by the boats!
Sunday morning we visited a new church and then drove 20 minutes to Gruene and ate lunch at Gristmill. Brandon and I ate there about five years ago on a river trip and it was just as awesome as we remembered. The weather was wonderful and we really enjoyed the time away from everything we're constantly stressing about.
Monday morning Brandon got back to work and Gemma and I drove home. She spent half the drive "hunting" in her muslin blanket/car seat improvised deer blind.
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
XOXO
Miranda
